On why it is good we don't live in Salem

The Girl seems to have a talent of which all school-aged people dream. Unbeknownst to her, she is the envy of students world-wide. She is remarkable. She is amazing. SHE CAN WORK UP A FEVER AT A MOMENT'S NOTICE! It's truly a gift and a talent I know I wish I'd had as a child. Many a morning she has groggily complained about going to school. We, being the mean, horrible, nasty parents we are, have sent her fever-free self off into that cruel, cruel world only to be phoned an hour or two later and be told she has a temperature of 101+ and must be picked-up immediately.

"How does she do this," one might ask. If only we knew. Lucky for her, we've grown attached to her so we'll not take her to Salem to be burned at the stake.

  3. Hmm, I remember in high school, the nurse left me in her office while she was taking my temp. I dipped the thermometer in her hot cup of tea for a few seconds and I was home free...
