I'm back!

And exhausted! We got back in town Tuesday night at midnight. What a whirlwind of activity! Our trip had two components. The first was a seminar at a state college about an hour away. It was fascinating and included speakers on The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Those segments included plenty of video and were, of course, hysterical! After that seminar, we were off to DC for a three-day conference at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Wow. It was fascinating and FULL of information. In our two and a half days in DC, we spent just over 24 hours in the museum! We heard some fascinating speakers including Deborah Lipstadt, author of History on Trial. I've never heard a more eloquent speaker. That woman knows how to use her words! We also heard from Carl Wilkens and Mark Hannis, both of whom are fascinating men with so much to tell. Wilkens spent a significant amount of time in Rwanda; Hannis started The Genocide Intervention Network.

Overall, it was, as I said, amazing, but I've never been so tired! We did not get to sleep before midnight any nights...and even Tuesday when we got home, it was midnight!

The Boy and The Girl did well in my absence, although, at times, The Girl got whiny. Other than that, all went well and I'm glad to be home!
