Let's Hear it for The Girl

Today, after gymnastics, I was waiting around with a friend and saw the coach speaking with another mom. I wasn't really paying attention to the coach...I only overheard him say something about the girls being more aware of where their bodies were and my immediate thought was "Are you kidding...I don't even know where MY body is!"

Being the dork I am, this thought alone was enough to make me chuckle and when I did, I caught the coach's eye. He turned to me, smiled, and said "You too." Knowing Hoping he is unable to read my thoughts, I asked what he was talking about. He said he would like to push The Girl a bit harder and see if, at the end of the off season competitions (Jan-Mar), he can place her in level 4 for the fall competitions (NEXT fall). Of course I agreed - if that is what he thought was best.

I'm so impressed with The Girl. She really does enjoy gymnastics. The thing I have to keep in mind is that she is only 9 and some days, she is going to goof off, regardless of what I say. The same holds true for The Boy.

The Girl was very funny in the car...she said "I never knew I was this good at a sport before!"

  2. It's lovely when they are good at something. Ned is only 4 but he is so into dance right now that I am taking him to a dance class on Monday. I can't wait!

  3. Congrats to The Girl! Gymnastics is such a difficult sport to master. Good for her! BTW, thanks for stopping by and helping Aunt Julie with ideas for the rehearsal dinner--please drop in again soon, 'cause she really needs your help!

  5. Congratulations and how exciting for both you and The Girl! I remember when my oldest 2 boys made the gymnastics team. It has been an amazing experience for all and has taught the boys (and me) many valuable life lessons!
