Let's Hear it for The Boy

I realize I've written a lot about The Boy lately. I have not meant to not write about The Girl. She is great and has some wonderful things on the horizon. I will get to them soon. Promise.

Back to The Boy. I have to brag a bit. And, since this is MY blog, I can do it here!

I met with The Boy's teacher yesterday. The Boy had spoken to us about being bored at school. He went to his teacher and told her. We met yesterday and he has been moved into an advanced math class. He started this new class today. He is the only 6th grader in the class. The rest of the students are in 7th grade, but they are advanced students as well.

The Boy is learning algebra; he can stay in this advanced math class through his senior year and go as far in math as he wants to go! We are so very excited about what this means for him.

Today, he brought home a sheet of problems he's working on. I remember algebra and know how to solve equations. The Boy does it totally differently than I would...and faster, too. He thinks WAY outside the box. It's very cool.

We are, obviously, super proud of The Boy!

  2. That's great news! What I like is that he felt comfortable in saying he was bored. Good job!
