Sports ups and downs

Well, we had a whirlwind of activity yesterday and today. The gist of it is that the kids' high school basketball team went to and won the state championship. The Boy's baseball team, however, didn't fare as well.

Thursday night's game was not good; the boys lost 10-0. Friday's double-header didn't start particularly well with a loss in the first game, but things were looking up in the second. Sadly, a 4-0 lead became a 7-4 loss, but The Boy did make a handful of spectacular plays in the three games.

Today was spent as a family day. We went, first, to a ball field so The Boy could get some batting and fielding practice in. We discovered, while doing that, The Girl is not a bad pitcher. She pitched to The Husband so The Boy could practice fielding. Mommy pretended to field some balls, but mostly, I stood around watching. Works for me!

Then, later this afternoon, we played a game or two of horse, which The Boy won. He's beaten The Husband a couple of times now! Dinner is finished and it's down time. I am going to go enjoy the rest of the evening with my family.

Hope you had a wonderful Saturday as well!

  1. Sorry the boy's baseball team didn't do so well, but they are young and will improve, for sure. And 2 - 3 is not too tragic a record at the beginning of the season. Glad you had a fun Saturday!
