The New Gym

Tonight The Girl went to her new gym. As I mentioned before, she now goes 3 days/week for 3 hrs/day (which is 3 hrs/week more than she was going before).

The new gym is air conditioned. This is important because the old one is not. In the old gym, the parents sit upstairs in the viewing area and sweat watch. In the new gym, there is no viewing area per se; there is a seating area but it is more difficult to see the whole gym. It does not matter because it is air conditioned. The new gym is smaller, too, but again, it does not matter; it is air conditioned!

We did not stay the entire practice, but for the entire first hour, the girls were doing conditioning exercises. Wow. The Husband, who is a huge Crossfit fan (and is even Crossfit Level 1 certified) was impressed with the conditioning portion of The Girl's workout. We left before they finished. When I returned, about half an hour before the end of practice, the girls were on the beams. Actually, the team was split up and the section The Girl was with was on beam.

After practice, I had a short chat with the new coach. We like her; she is very nice. She is strict and firm with the girls, but she seems to have a lot of fun, and, at the end of practice, all the girls ran up to her and hugged her.

The Girl seems to be right in line with what she should know by now, but her form is a bit lacking. She has the skills, but not the finer technique. We look forward to this year at the gym.

  1. Glad you're liking the new place. It'll be fun to watch those muscles develop over the next year. G is so much more tone than she used to be. Can't wait to hear more.

  4. Wow, it's air conditioned! That IS the most important thing. As an added bonus, you like the instructor - that's not too bad, either. ;)

Glad you and the family are enjoying yourselves in the new place.
