Snow Day!

It's time for Candid Carrie's Friday Foto Finish Fiesta! It's WAY fun to post to and a lot of fun to follow as well.

This week we had a snowday. When you're a kid, you live for snowdays. As an adult...not so much! It didn't help that the snowday was on a day the kids were out of school anyway! I was supposed to work, but didn't have to. Nice to have the day off, but I'd have had the kids all day anyway!
This is what I woke up to. It is the view out my front door.

Beautiful, isn't it? Right away, The Husband decided to wake the kids. Personally, I'd have let them sleep in. Nevertheless, we were all up, so the kids wanted to go out and play. I know I've mentioned we live in the south. There isn't much snow here so we do not have appropriate clothing for this type of weather. We grabbed what we had and out we went.

BAM! How do you resist such an awesome and easy shot?! It wasn't long before both The Dog and The Husband got involved. The Dog LOVES the snow. A few years ago, we were visiting my mother-in-law and we had 2 feet of snow! The Dog was in heaven!

Finally, The Girl made a snow angel. Then, it was work time. We do not own a shovel, so The Husband had to clean the driveway with a broom! The snow is pretty light, though, so it worked.

Determination

It's time for Candid Carrie's Friday Foto Finish Fiesta! It's WAY fun to post to and a lot of fun to follow as well.

Since last week's photo series was so cute, I thought I'd do a follow-up - this time with The Boy. He has always been an industrious little guy and was not one for letting obstacles get in his way. He is just over a year old in these photos. He wanted something in that toy box and was not going to allow the size to stop him!

If memory serves, it was a plastic bag with some big, fluffy, fruit shaped bath sponges...but who knows...it was 10 years ago!

Going, Going, Gone!

It's time for Candid Carrie's Friday Foto Finish Fiesta! It's WAY fun to post to and a lot of fun to follow as well.

Today's photos are from a family reunion LONG, LONG ago. OK - not too long ago because, as you can see, The Girl was here. It must've been about nine years ago. My dad's side of the family held a reunion in Ellenville, NY at the Nevele. Now, I've linked to the Nevele, but I swear, not one of those photos looks familiar to me, so I may have it wrong...but I *know* that's where we were!
The only thing I recognize is the horseback riding because we did that. It was fun.

So...I think this was in the morning, but I don't recall. The Girl was, obviously, tired. So tired, in fact, that she fell asleep eating...which is not that uncommon in infants, but it usually happens in Mom's arms, not in the high chair!

Going...

...going...

...going...

...gone!

Oh Tanenbaum!

It's FRIDAY!! That means it's time for Candid Carrie's Friday Foto Finish Fiesta. This time, I'm doing my Foto Finish with some holiday flair!

This weekend, after the parade, we decided to go get a Christmas Tree. This may be confusing to some of you who have figured out I'm Jewish. Rest assured, you are correct. The Husband, however, is not. He was raised Lutheran; therefore, he celebrates Christmas. I don't mind adding another celebration to my year, so we celebrate in our own way.

Our house has 9' ceilings, and our living room has vaulted ceilings. This is great because we were able to get a really big tree this year. Usually, we get a 5-6 foot tree. This year, we went 8-9 feet...and let me tell you - it is a BEAUTIFUL tree. It looks kind of crooked in the photos but it really isn't that lopsided in real life.

To give a better idea of the size, here are some photos of the kids decorating.

Because the tree is so much larger than ones we've had in the past, our first task was to go BACK to the tree place and buy a new, BIGGER tree stand! The one we had just wasn't cutting it! The second obstacle is that, for many, we don't have nearly enough ornaments for such a large tree. Personally, I disagree. I think we have just the right amount. I think the tree is beautiful and want to be able to see it behind the ornaments.

Of course, for the full effect, the tree must be lit. There is nothing prettier than a lit Christmas Tree.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Friday Foto Finish Fiesta!

If you're not into Candid Carrie's Friday Foto Finish Fiesta, you don't know what you're missing! It's WAY fun to post and also to follow.

In honor of The Boy's birthday, I chose this photo.

I took this picture one morning just as The Husband left for work. Both The Boy and The Dog (at the time) used to look out the window and watch Daddy go to work. The Boy was not much over a year old (he had his first haircut at 13-mo).

Bye-bye, Daddy! Have fun at work!
