Singing Praises to the babysitter

So yesterday was NOT a good day. It happens. C'est la vie. Today was a new day - and today, we had a babysitter. I had never met the sitter before but I know one of her best friends and she came extremely highly recommended. I trust my friend (whose daughter is friends with said sitter) and knew this girl would be good. Oh. My. God. This girl is better than good. She's amazing. I had a great feeling from the moment I met her this morning. She's absolutely adorable (and I knew The Boy would like that!) and sweet, too. She seems oblivious to her own charm, which makes her even sweeter. My day went extremely well with only a handful of phone calls from home.

9:50am - The Girl..."Mom, can we have ice cream for snack?"
10:00am - The Boy..."Mom, can I have apples and honey for snack?"
noonish - The Girl..."Do you put the pizza on the rack or a pan?"

I think that was all. I called to tell them I was on my way home and The Boy asked "Can't you stay later?" LOL! Apparently, they PLAYED all day. They watched an hour of TV but that was all...the rest of the time, they were engaged with each other and they played games. When I got home, the kids asked the sitter to play Connect Four. There was a full-blown tournament that even I got involved in. The sitter was so much fun - and she did not mind staying later to play with the kids. The Husband got home about 30 min later and I took the sitter home. On the drive, she said she'd had a good time as well and the kids were fun to babysit...MUSIC to my ears!

While kids were sad to see the sitter leave today, they are super excited that she is coming back tomorrow night so The Husband and I can go out for our anniversary dinner.

Have I mentioned how much I love the babysitter?!

  3. Happy Anniversary! Glad you have found such a great baby sitter.
Sorry The Girl didn't do a handstand on the beach. There will plenty at her first gymnastics competition. I look forward to seeing those! :)
